Adult Day Care
Adult day care provides a social outlet for elderly people who can not manage
travel to recreational activities on their own.
Some adult day care centers provide health services and are appropriate for
people who are under medical care and need to be closely monitored. Others are
designed mainly to provide social activities away from family and care givers.
Stand alone facilities offering adult day care and adult day health care are
located throughout the state.
Assisted living centers or nursing homes may offer day care as an
"outpatient" service to the neighboring population. Those that do may also offer
respite care for a weekend or a week. Senior centers may also offer senior day
care.
